photography isn't my first love, but it is a close second. i love sharing an image i see in my head. even if i can't bring out the exact image i image, the process sometimes leads to entirely different image that is just as good - if not better (of course i delete the bad ones - lol).

when the payoff makes the effort worthwhile, i love photography; when it doesn't, it frustrates me. the payoff from my Joker Queen shoot definitely made the effort worthwhile! from brainstorming the concept, to dressing the set, i really had no idea if the resulting photos were going to come out good or bad. there were shifting schedules and availability, and a studio with no electricity or heat to deal with. the model and bodypainter probably noticed the lack of heat more than i did, but they persevered. i thought about taking my shirt off to empathize, but making them nauseous wouldn't have helped the cause. so instead i put a little extra pressure on myself because of that perseverance to make sure i gave them some photos they'd happily display.

i'm happy with the results, and my eagerness is renewed for the next shoot!

I bought my first SLR camera for $116; a Pentax K-1000. I still have it, and don't plan on getting rid of it - even though I haven't shot with it in years. The beauty of b/w photos is what drew me to photography in the first place.

My interests are fashion, athletics, and land/waterscapes. Photography is one of my artistic interests, along with writing and stage theatre. I enjoy the creative process, and collaborating with other artists.
